Burn Hall Wedding Venue Review
Here is Matt’s most recent videographic (is that a word?) extravaganza! We put this together from the photos from Lisa & Paul’s recent wedding at Burn Hall and I think it looks pretty swish. Keep in mind as you watch it that the ceremony was actually performed at the York Register’s office (hence why the ceremony photos are MIA in the video) and the reception was held at Burn Hall. We hope watching this video will give you a good idea what a wedding reception at Burn Hall can look like as well as the kind of lovely photos we can provide for you on your special day at Burn Hall.
Situated in Huby, Burn Hall feels very much off the beaten path even though it is a short 15 minutes north of York. Burn Hall offers Hotel accommodation, two restaurants and full catering services as well as being licensed to perform civil ceremonies. We had an opportunity to sample the fantastic food catered by Burn Hall at Paul & Lisa’s wedding and we can verify that it is top notch! No dry chicken fillets and shrivelled up peas – we dined on succulent roast beef and roast potatoes that would make even the most discerning guest happy. Burn Hall has 8 acres of grounds, including a large manicured lawn in the front – perfect if you are looking for a marquee venue. Parking is one of those little details that is easy to overlook when choosing a venue and we are happy to report that Burn Hall has plenty of free, on-site parking. So go ahead, invite a few extra guests….they will have no problem parking up!
The staff at Burn Hall were efficient, organized and polite. The master of ceremonies was always on top of the schedule and kept the party ticking over without missing a beat. We can’t tell you how important it is for a venue to have a staff as professional as the one at Burn Hall.
From a photographic point of view, Burn Hall has plenty to offer . The ceilings of the Minster room are white and there are several windows, allowing for tons of clean, available light (less flash is always a lovely thing!). The interior solarium is a fantastic location for rainy-day photo ops. The grounds have a lovely manicured ‘walk’ in the front with a water feature perfect for romantic photos with your newly betrothed. The lawn area is perfect for group photos (as well as general mingling and guest enjoyment).
We think Burn Hall should be on the top of the list of every bride who is looking for a lovely venue with ample amenities.
