As York wedding photographers, we are always excited when a new venue opens in our area, particularly one as beautiful and well thought out as Woodstock Weddings & Events. Woodstock had a previous life as a horse stud ranch and has brought all of that rustic charm into its new life as one of York’s premier wedding venues and we were super excited to have our first opportunity to work at Woodstock when we photographed Beth & Doug’s gorgeous springtime wedding earlier this year.

Bride and groom kiss in the sunset at Woodstock Wedding Venue in York

Beth and Doug are two of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet and Jaye was absolutely in love with Beth’s amazing bohemian styled dress which was both effortlessly beautiful as well as super comfortable (a much underrated quality in a wedding dress!). The whole day was so easygoing and fun that every guest and family member had an amazing time.

Beth, who has some seriously enviable singing skills, even treated her guests to a little song alongside her choir – complete with kazoos! And not to be missed out was Beth’s sassy little sister (still just a toddler) who decided to lend a helping hand during the bride’s speech.

Later in the day when we popped Beth & Doug out for some sunset photos (ooof that sunset!) a freak rainstorm broke out from a singular cloud and drenched us with an absolute deluge of rain. Beth and Doug took the sudden downpour in their stride and laughed as we all ran back into the main building. We were all pretty soaked but we all agree that the photos were 100% worth it!

Beth & Doug’s bohemian styled wedding at Woodstock Wedding & Events ended with a wild ceilidh filled with piggy back rides and a whole lot of laughter. Who could ask for more?

As a little bonus to the day…..we even got to catch up with a previous Tux & Tales couple (and their squishy new baby). We always super enjoy watching how our couples thrive and even getting to occasionally see them grow. Congrats Kayleigh & Andy on making an adorable tiny human.
