The Revenge of Jennie & Duncan!
(If you haven’t seen Jennie & Duncan’s first wedding in the Isle of Arran.. go.. go now and get your fill of some gorgeous island magic.) Ohhhhhhh you are in for so much hula-hooping!
Jennie and Duncan had so much fun at their second wedding at Barmbyfield Barn in Barmby Moor. Apart from it being one of our very favourite wedding venues – it was a fantastic contrast to the grandeur of the Scottish Isles. With loads of DIY and rustic details, Barmbyfield Barn was the perfect rural backdrop for their knees-up second wedding.
The day started in mid-afternoon and with a heck of a lot of confetti. There were hugs, kisses and a actual shed-load of hula-hoops all afternoon. I love nothing more than great weather and guests who know how to make good use of a lawn game. There were bubbles as big as buses, tree swings and some seriously soggy kids. Everyone had an absolute whale of a time.
Then, everyone went inside for some amazingly heartfelt and funny speeches followed by a gorgeous hog roast by Hog & Apple. There were home-made liqueurs on the table – exactly the right kind of table gift to get the party started.
After the meal we popped out for some sunset photos where Jennie and Duncan were all fun and smiles. We learned that Jennie is very complicated – which is a great trait since Duncan holds no truck with a basic wife.
The evening ended with a ceilidh and there were some seriously amazing moves on that dance floor.
Everything about Jennie & Duncan’s weddings (both of them!) was just what a wedding should be – filled with fun, laughter and a hell of a lot of love.
Congratulations Jennie & Duncan – you rocked that wedding (even if you never managed to rock that hula hoop!)
