Iberica Leeds is a sumptuous city centre restaurant venue specialising in world-class Spanish tapas. Set inside the Hepper House, this amazing building was built in the 19th century and has so many charming features.
As modern and natural Yorkshire wedding photographers, we really enjoy working with couples who are having their receptions in unique restaurant locations like Iberica in Leeds. If you are a food focused couple who doesn’t want to compromise on a venue with character, this venue provides ideal photographic opportunities as well as delicious bites!

As Leeds wedding photographers, we absolutely love the photographic choices we have when working in Leeds city centre. Because it is so centrally located to the Leeds Town Hall and Leeds Civic Centre, Iberica is a natural choice for couples who want to have a wedding reception that is only a short stomp away from their ceremony location.
When we photograph weddings at Iberica, we love the opportunity to get shots which make the best of the urban landscape but also have the opportunity to provide some contrast which showcase the Victorian splendour of Hepper House.
Everything you need for photographs is just a minute or two walk away as Leeds city centre has a wide variety of architectural backdrops from classical to contemporary. If you are down for some relaxed, modern documentary wedding photos – stick around and grab a bit of inspiration.

Wedding Ceremonies at Iberica Leeds
Iberica Leeds is licensed for legally binding ceremonies but don’t fret – you have many choices close at hand.
Most couples have their ceremony just up the street at Leeds Civic Centre but if you are looking for a CofE ceremony, you should take a peek at the beautiful Leeds Cathedral and see if you qualify for a ceremony at their historic church.
Couples Photos at Iberica Leeds
In general, if you are having your reception at Iberica Leeds, we would suggest doing your group formals at your ceremony venue. This is because Iberica is a bit snug and it may be complicated to try to accommodate larger group shots inside the venue.
However, if you really want to use the space for your group photos (it is pretty snazzy after all) then we would suggest using the area just next to the integrated restaurant bar and clearing away the seating.
Alternatively, it may be worth speaking with the venue management about short duration use of the Hepper Room (if you are having your reception in the restaurant dining room). We haven’t yet had a couple do this, but it is possible that the venue may be able to accommodate the request for a fee.

Iberica Leeds Venue & Ammenities
The Restaurant Dining Room
& Private Dining
As Iberica Leeds wedding photographers, we would be remiss if we didn’t point out the beauty of photographing in the main restaurant dining room. One of the most striking features is the beautifully papered vaulted ceiling.
However, the attention to detail doesn’t stop there. With luxurious furnishings and live plants, this space will need little to no additional decoration by couples to look top-shelf.
Despite the cosy feeling of the room, it still remains quite bright thanks to the base white walls and white lamp shades. In the evening, the abundant light fixtures creates a great sense of “speakeasy” atmosphere. The dining room of the Restaurant seats up to 90 guests and the clever layout of the tables means that it is quite easy to cover your speeches without unnecessarily obstructing your guests.
It is worth mentioning that couples who are having a bijou wedding might do well to enquire after the Hepper Room for a private dining space that can seat up to 30 guests.
Evening Parties at Iberica
Restuarant Leeds
The charming old-world feel of Iberica Leeds makes it easy to go from day to night. Guests can be entertained downstairs in the main bar area whilst the staff clears out excess tables and makes space for your evening party.
Nothing says clever contrast like throwing shapes to amazing music in the middle of such an elegant building.
Evening tapas can be served for your guests to nibble on (we highly recommend the churros – they go down a storm!) and the integrated bar means your guests can stay close to the dance floor for all the evening shenanigans.
The dance floor space made by the dining room is generous and can accommodate really dedicated dancers such as ceilidhs, line dancing, drumming or even a hora.

Iberica Leeds Parking
Leeds is a very walkable city and whilst parking near the restaruant is ample, it isn’t the cheapest so it may be worth suggesting that your guests ride-share. The closest 24/7 parking is at the Q car park at The Light shopping centre and will put you back in the neighbourhood of £30 for full day (as of Feb, 2023). However, you can pay in advance online and save a bit of dosh.
Accommodation
There is no onsite accommodation at the Iberica in Leeds but the city is absolutely full of beautiful hotels & Air BnB’s to suit all budgets.

How to Find Iberica Leeds Restaurant
Iberica Leeds is located on E. Parade just south of the Headrow near Leeds Town Hall. Cross the street (Headrow) from Town Hall at the pedestrian crossing. Go right until you reach East Parade and then turn left. The entrance is a red door on your left hand side of the road.
