Skipbridge Country Weddings is a rustic family-run wedding venue located between York and Harrogate. Skipbridge has a resident Tipi situated in an enromous field surrounded by several unique outdoor features including a pond with a moored boat, a willow bower gazebo, a tuktuk and even a ski lift!
This North Yorkshire wedding venue can easily accomodate weddings with up to 200 guests and offer a wide assortment of accommodation options including a super fun railway carriage. If you love animals, this is the right venue for you! At Skipbridge Country Weddings you can find ducks, goats, chickens, alpacas, horses, peacocks and even donkies!

Skipbridge Country Weddings offers a veritable cornucopia of choices for amazing couples photographs. During the summer, the venue is vibrant green with several varieties of trees and flowers if you are looking for a “garden” type backdrop. We can also make use of one of the many fun prop objects around the grounds so your wedding photos have a bit of extra flair.
One of the most fantastic features about the layout of Skipbridge Country Weddings is that every different feature is tucked away in its own little “nook” so different parts of the same field feel like entirely secluded zones. This means that you can have some privacy during your couples photo session without feeling like you have gone on an expedition to get to a pretty spot away from the maddening crowd.
Group Photos at Skipbridge
As documentary Skipbridge Wedding Photographers, we primarily focus on candid and relaxed photos throughout the day. However, we know how important a select number of more traditional group photos are for our couples.
There are several areas at Skipbridge Country Weddings which will work a treat for your group formal photographs. We love the area just in front of the Grain Silo, but there are so many more to choose from that whatever the weather or no matter how large the group, there will be a place on-site to accommodate your shots.
The venue staff are very relaxed about the use of biodegradable confetti so you can have confetti as you walk down the aisle or at a later time (like your large group shot) if you prefer!

Truly memorable wedding photos are easy to take at Skipbridge Country Weddings because there are so many options of backdrops.
For the best Skipbridge Country Wedding photos, we take couples out for short “mini” sessions throughout the day rather than one epicly long couples session. This means you get to have maximum time with your friends and family as well as take advantage of the many cool and interesting backdrops at Skipbridge.
For your first session, we may stick close to the ceremony area using the willow tree, willow bower or the grain silo as a backdrop. For later sessions we might explore some of the cool props like the vintage truck or the ski lift. If weather permits, we can take our last couples photos in the sunset which is easily accessed on all sides of the venue.

Outdoor Ceremony Willow Bower
The willow bower under the giant Willow Tree at Skipbridge Country Weddings is an amazing location for your outdoor wedding ceremony. The bower is licensed for legal weddings conducted by the registrar but is also perfect for more offbeat ceremonies such as handfastings.
It is recommended that your guests bring umbrellas and be ready for an all-weather ceremony so you can make the most of this amazing space. The venue offer cozy blankets for the odd chilly day.
Skipbridge Tipi
Skipbrodge Country Weddings has a resident Tipi situated in their field with two large bells and one smaller one to the side which is a perfect chill out space for your guests as the evening goes on.
Tipis are ideal locations for your evening party as they get dark inside quite early making them full of atmosphere even at the height of summer when the sun doesn’t set until late. The Skipbridge Tipi has a generous sized dance floor area and an easy to access bar area.
Fun Skipbridge Decor
One of the most memorable features of a Skipbridge Country Wedding is the fun and unique decor everywhere you turn. We particularly love the tuktuk that emerges from the side of the toilet block.
Additionally the hobbit hole door and the ski lift make for super fun photographic backdrops full of personality. And who can miss out the vintage pickup truck full of flowers? As avid gardeners – we would love to know how to get an amazing flower folly like that at our house!
