Kara & Jonny Got Married

Let me just start by saying that Kara & Jonny are two of the most warm and welcoming people you could ever hope to meet. Among the million other things I totally loved about Kara & Jonny’s wedding this year was the fact that Kara and Jonny worked to tirelessly to make each and every guest that came to their wedding feel absolutely loved and welcome. The kind of joy and enthusiasm Kara has for the people around her just can’t be faked and you could just feel her happy vibe infect every single part of the day.

I started my morning at Kara’s parent’s awesome farm house capturing Kara and all 8 zillion of her bridesmaids and flower girls as they got ready. I always love the buzz of excitement in a room full of girls getting ready and seriously this was buzz to the third power. Everywhere I turned was another bridesmaid and another temporary tattoo or stick on bindi gem. Kara had one of my favourite ‘family reveals to date… watching the faces of all of her friends and family as she rounded the corner of the stairs was just absolutely priceless.

Matt was with the gents at Kara & Jonny’s gorgeous stone cottage where they were accompanied by Sid the dog who quite famously loves the camera (errrr….biting the camera). Then everyone was off to East Riddlesden Hall for the ceremony and reception. Kara and Jonny were married underneath an awesome paper flower arch and were greeted by the most gorgeous sunshine all day. Kara’s adorable little niece tried to steal the show by cooing loudly during the ceremony.

There were fun, frolics and a healthy dose of shenanigans as people laughed, played games and generally enjoyed the late summer sun. The kennel even brought Sid round for some photos and he was so excited to see everyone he even forgot to try to bite my face off whilst I photographed him. What a dude!

The speeches were some of the most fun and emotional I have listened to all year. Kara and her twin sister have such a special close bond and it is so obvious that her family loves her so much that I have to say that I might have gotten a little teary myself through a couple of parts of those speeches.

After some awesome piggybacks and sunset photographs it was onto the party. And oh my what a party. Everyone just owned that dance floor.

Congratulations Kara & Jonny – you two are just 100% awesome. End of.
