Lucinda & Thom’s wedding at the amazing Crab & Lobster (Thirsk) was a highlight wedding of our year and everything we love about Yorkshire wedding photography. From the moment we met them, we just knew that photographing Lucinda and Thom’s wedding was going to be so much fun. Lucinda and Thom are both heavily tattooed and as we are lovers of tattoos, we just couldn’t wait to get that ink on show and join them at the fantastically quirky Crab & Lobster for an awesome day of summer celebrations! The day got off to a flying start, while I (Matt) met up with a very nervous Thom at his family home, Jaye joined Lucinda for prep at the incredible Crab Manor Hotel. The Crab & Lobster Restaurant & Hotel are crammed with eclectic, amazing details and it wasn’t long before Jaye was getting acquainted with a life-size stuffed yeti and other bizarre and beautiful décor. Lucinda was in a great mood and we just knew it was going to be a damn fine day of Yorkshire wedding photography. Finally, hair & makeup (by the exceptionally talented Natalie Willingham) was complete, the dress was on and it was time for Lucinda to join Thom at the top of the aisle.

After a beautiful and emotional ceremony (at one point Thom’s son started crying because he was just so happy that his dad & stepmum were getting married – it doesn’t get much cuter than that), it was time to head out into the summer sun for drinks and hugs in the gardens. We love Crab & Lobster wedding photography and the amazing grounds of the manor house are the perfect setting for relaxed and informal wedding photographs.

After some enthusiastic confetti it was time for us to whisk Thom & Lucinda off for some couples portraits. It was a beautiful sunny day and the shade of a weeping willow made for the perfect spot for some relaxed photographs of the happy couple. Thom & Lucinda are so much fun and a perfect match for our brand of authentic Yorkshire wedding photography. We had a great time photographing them and after a lot of laughter, it was time for us to re join re join their guests and get the speeches under way.

Following speeches outside (why wouldn’t you with weather this good), it was time to sit down and enjoy the awesome culinary delights of the Crab & Lobster. The Crab & Lobster serves award-winning food and (as the name might suggest) specializes in seafood. Fantastic decorations hang from the ceiling and everywhere is visually exciting. After an exceptional feast it was back out in the lazy, summer afternoon sunshine for more drinks and to catch up with all those nearest and dearest. If I could bottle an atmosphere and take it with me to every wedding, I would love to capture the happy, content vibe of Thom & Lucinda’s wedding. Every moment of their day was so much fun and full of some of my favourite Yorkshire wedding photography moments.

Dancing and an evening BBQ rounded off a perfect day of Crab & Lobster wedding photography. We even had time to whisk Thom & Lucinda out for the most incredible sunset. Fun, laughter and whole lot of awesome – this day had it all. Thom and Lucinda, you guys smashed it!
